Self-Printing Advertisement Board with Reusable Ink

DESCRIPTION

SPABRINK is aimed to be a novel advertising tool using the innovative combination of existing and new technologies. This tool will fill in the gap between static and dynamic advertising since the technology will allow onsite printing of adverts controlled remotely. Furthermore, the printed image can be wiped off and the ink can be reused after separation. The end result will be a new advertising tool that can be controlled remotely to display different images periodically without creating waste and will only use energy during image change (could be powered by a battery).

SPABRINK works like an inbuilt printer using coloured powder deposited through a novel piezoelectric ceramic printing head onto an electrostatics surface. The image will be produced using a new colour scheme. Remote communication will allow the changing of images and the attribute to separate the powder will mean no waste is produced.

The goal of this project is to produce a cost effective and environmentally friendly Real-time Outdoor Media tool which can give the same visual effect as a paper based billboard, but without the use of pre-printed paper with one-time-use ink and glue which pollute our environment. Furthermore, the proposed system would increase the competitiveness of SMEs within the advertising industry by reducing the time and the cost of advert implementation but at the same time allowing more directed marketing strategies.
